Hi, my name is Samreena, but you can call me Sam.
I’m a front-end + email developer + designer, currently based in DC.
With my background in industrial/organizational psychology, web/email development, and (student, community, issue, labor, tenant, and event) organizing, as well as nearly a decade of (project, people, change, operations, and capacity) management experience, I specialize in creating accessible, ergonomic, and aesthetically-pleasing experiences for diverse audiences. My managed projects run the gamut from local/grassroots and national events to affiliate supply programs to email operations for a litany of local and national campaigns and organizations.
Most recently, I was the Email Production Manager for an award-winning web design and digital marketing agency, working for some of the largest and oldest nonprofit organizations and associations, such as the International Planned Parenthood Federation, American Kidney Fund, National Trust for Historic Preservation, Boston Children’s Hospital, and Special Olympics.
Before this, I worked for a nationally-recognized full-service digital firm, building and managing a digital production team, email operations, and web development projects for a broad roster of electoral and non-profit clients. My tenure as Digital Production Manager/Lead included a number of successes, most notably breaking email fundraising records for the Democratic Party of Georgia for the historic 2020 Senate runoff election and winning multiple industry awards for personalization with the team’s work with the National Democratic Redistricting Committee.
I’m currently on the lookout for my next role as a developer, designer, or project manager, and I’d love to flex my development, design, and project management skills for you! If your interest is piqued, please reach out through LinkedIn or email:
Interested in getting to know me outside the machine? Here are some other things I’m passionate about:
- Music: I have very broad taste in music and am generally able to appreciate most genres even when they’re not the ones I frequent. I used to play the trumpet and am in the process of getting back into it now. I’m also a singer – not professionally, but I have won niche local awards for this. As you might imagine, I’m also a big fan of karaoke. Have a listen to some of my favorite songs of the past few years (according to Spotify).
- Tabletop games: I’ve mainly stuck to D&D, Pathfinder, and Starfinder. My favorite character that I’ve created and played to date is from Starfinder, a Ysoki tank who takes full advantage of her spacious (face) cheeks to hold weapons, breathes fire through the use of a cybernetic implant, and operates starship weapons. Highly recommend Starfinder.
- Art: I love getting creative and working with a range of media to realize original ideation. While my most common mediums are pencil/pen/paper, acrylic paint, and henna (mehndi), I’ve recently gotten into cardstock models and LED wire sculptures.
- Weightlifting: I appreciate being able to do more and feel more of the full capacity of my physical self, maintaining muscles that would ordinarily atrophy due to lack of use. Being able to surprise people with my strength is a not-insignificant upside as well. I can’t imagine being an organic machine made of electric flesh and not exploring that.
😊
